A Prefabricated Bangkirai Timber Structure Engineered for Coastal Durability

Touchwood proudly presents one of our latest international timber engineering projects: the TUI Blue Beach Access Stairs, located in the pristine coastal region of Santa Martha for the globally recognized hospitality group TUI Blue.

This elevated timber platform and stairway system is designed to provide safe, seamless beach access while enhancing the natural beauty of Curaçao’s landscape. The structure has been fully prefabricated in Touchwood’s Bali manufacturing facility and is now being shipped to Curaçao for onsite assembly.

Precision-Driven Timber Engineering Using Cadwork

To ensure maximum accuracy and onsite efficiency, this project was engineered using Cadwork, a leading 3D BIM software for timber construction.
With Cadwork, Touchwood achieved:

• High-precision 3D modeling for complex geometry
• Millimeter-accurate cutting lists
• Optimized structural detailing suitable for coastal conditions
• Efficient prefabrication workflows ensure rapid installation

Bangkirai Hardwood — Ideal for Marine & Coastal Applications

The entire structure is built using Bangkirai hardwood, a tropical timber known for exceptional durability in marine and outdoor conditions.

Bangkirai continues to be one of the world’s most trusted materials for coastal walkways, decking, and heavy-duty exterior structures.

Finishing: Dark Mahogany for a Premium, Long-Lasting Aesthetic

To enhance both durability and visual character, the structure is finished in Dark Mahogany. This finish provides:

• A premium, rich tone suitable for luxury beachfront properties
• High UV protection
• Enhanced weather resistance
• Long-lasting color retention in harsh coastal environments

Prefabrication & Global Delivery

After the full production process was completed in Bali, the structure entered the export and logistics phase and is currently on its way to Curaçao.
